How do I join destinationready.ai?

Accepted Answer

Joining takes less than two minutes. Click Join the Community in the navigation bar on any page of the site. The registration form asks for three things: your name, your organisation name, and your work email address. After submitting the form, the destinationready.ai team reviews your application. You will receive a welcome email with your login credentials within two working days. If you have not received your welcome email after two working days, check your spam folder or contact yt@globaldmoservices.com

Does dmoready.ai involve research? What happens to my data?

destinationready.ai is also part of a doctoral research project at the University of Gloucestershire, examining how destination marketing and management organisations adopt and govern artificial intelligence. The researcher is Y.T. Anderson, supervised by Professor Bob Ryan. Participation in the community may contribute to this research. Any data used in academic outputs will be fully anonymised. No organisation or individual will be identifiable in any published research. Participation in the pilot does not constitute consent to research use of your data. Research participation is separate, voluntary, and governed by a formal ethics process in accordance with University of Gloucestershire requirements. The optional research consent checkbox in the registration form simply indicates willingness to be contacted about voluntary research participation. Ticking or leaving it blank has no effect on your community access. destinationready.ai processes all member data in compliance with GDPR. Full details are in the Privacy Policy on the site. What is AIRETT?

AIRETT stands for AI Readiness and Ethical Targeting Toolkit. It is a free, structured self-assessment that measures your organisation's readiness to adopt artificial intelligence responsibly. The assessment covers six dimensions: Strategy and Leadership — whether your organisation has made a formal commitment to AI adoption at leadership level. Team Knowledge and Training — whether your staff have the knowledge and guidance to use AI tools safely and effectively. Data Governance and Privacy — how your organisation handles data when using AI tools, in line with GDPR or equivalent privacy frameworks. Ethics and Responsible Use — whether your organisation uses AI in a transparent, fair, and accountable way. Tool Adoption and Operations — whether AI tools are used consistently, inventoried, and measured across the organisation. Risk and Regulatory Awareness — whether your organisation understands the legal and reputational risks of AI adoption, including the EU AI Act. The assessment consists of 30 statements. You select the response that best describes your organisation's current situation. It takes approximately five minutes to complete. The Destination AI Toolkit is the main resource area of the member community. It contains four sections accessible through a single filterable interface. The AI Prompt Library provides ready-to-use prompts for ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI tools. Prompts cover every major destination function including marketing, content creation, press and media relations, strategy planning, governance, legal and compliance, finance, stakeholder engagement, sustainability, visitor engagement, MICE and business events, data and research, and human resources and training. Prompts are filterable by organisation type, function area, and difficulty level. The AI Tools Directory is a curated list of AI tools relevant to destination organisations, each with a description, pricing tier, and an ethical use note. Categories include content creation, social media, analytics, translation, CRM, answer-engine optimisation, agent builders, website builders, campaign automation, visitor chatbots, itinerary builders, and tools for MICE and business events. Templates contains adaptable working documents including a complete AI Strategy Template that a DMO can present to its board. Further templates are added regularly by the editorial team and contributed by community members. The AI in Tourism blog publishes regular posts on AI developments relevant to destination marketing and management professionals. Current posts cover: why DMOs are losing visibility in AI-powered search and what to do about it; the EU AI Act and what it means for convention bureaus; a case study of the Visit Tampa Bay AI visitor concierge; shadow AI governance risks for DMOs; and AI applications for MICE and business events professionals. Members receive an email notification each time a new post is published. The email contains a direct login link so you can read the post immediately without having to navigate to it manually.
